Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edvard Grieg (ranked 2259 p4p, 265 weight class) and Miles North (ranked 1571 p4p, 191 weight class). North has chosen Men at Work - Down Under as his entrance music. Miles North acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grieg avoids a punch combination nicely.

Grieg closes the distance and pushes North back into the cage.
Grieg tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
North is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

North is trying to pull guard but Grieg turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

North looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grieg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Grieg is looking for a sweep. North is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
North is keen to just control but Grieg is a slippery customer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Edvard Grieg will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

North working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grieg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grieg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Grieg won't allow North to sweep him here.

North wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Grieg gets to his feet and stands over North, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! North felt that one! Grieg unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save North from any more punishment!

After winning the bout, Edvard Grieg thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
