Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smith (ranked 2910 p4p, 392 weight class) and Keiji Mutou (ranked 1918 p4p, 290 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Therion - Sitra Ahra. On his way into the cage it seems that Mike Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mike Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith walks into a jab.
Mutou shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Mutou.
Mutou misses with a straight right.
Smith scores with a decent looking hook.
Smith throws a head kick that Mutou semi-blocks.
Mutou scores with a nice right hand.
Smith throws a series of punches but Mutou avoids them all with ease.
Smith tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mutou swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Mutou misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
A punch lands to the side of Mutou 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mutou's coach down at Holding Cell was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mutou's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As Smith backs off Mutou throws a huge counter combo but Smith manages to avoid it all.

Mutou darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Mutou. Those never looked like landing.
Smith throws a counter high kick but Mutou was just alert enough to avoid it.
Smith tries to clinch there but Mutou circles away.

Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mutou throws out the jab.

Nice defenses there by Mutou.

Mutou tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mutou somewhat.

Mike Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keiji Mutou.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Mutou tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Mutou back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Mutou is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mutou tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smith smiles and moves away.
Mutou drops his hands momentarily and Smith needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Mutou just on the top of the head. Mutou drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Mutou - he's done!
