Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Yang (ranked 5567 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Noneya (ranked 25392 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Noneya!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Noneya perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Noneya is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yang defends it well.
Noneya is just content to waste time from the top position. Yang takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Noneya closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yang to the mat! Yang manages to get full guard.
Noneya pushes down on Yang's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Noneya is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noneya tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Noneya somewhat.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Noneya. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Yang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Noneya.
As Noneya tries to get set, Yang tries to push him back and clinch up but Noneya manages to avoid the attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yang is defended easily by Noneya.

Noneya is looking to take a break and control but Yang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Yang manages to work his way to half guard, despite Noneya's best efforts.
Noneya wants to take a breather but Yang is having none of it.

Noneya is controlling the pace.
Noneya is keen to just control but Yang is a slippery customer.

Yang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Noneya pulls his head out easily.

Let's hope that Noneya has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Yang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Noneya is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Yang is trying to maintain the position but Noneya is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Jake Noneya.
I think Noneya has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
