Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Puck Heidegger!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Carson West!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Heidegger throws a punch but it's blocked by West.
Heidegger managing to block the knees to the body from West.
Heidegger swings away with an uppercut that misses.
West's coach down at The Rat Hole was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on West's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Heidegger breaks from the clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Heidegger.
West scores with a nice strike.
Heidegger throws a jab when West was well out of range.
A little jabbing left from West on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Heidegger throws a low kick, looking for West's leg but West calmly moves out of range.
Heidegger misses with a body kick.
West uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Heidegger.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Heidegger avoids a wild elbow strike from West.
West misses with an elbow strike.
West with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
West crunches a lovely knee into Heidegger's ribcage.
Heidegger misses with a short punch on the inside.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
West is trying to maintain a safe position but Heidegger gets an underhook and turns West into the cage.
Heidegger doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
West lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Heidegger backwards.
West avoids the elbow strike from Heidegger, against the cage.
West lands a nice elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heidegger takes an elbow to the forehead.
West tries to land knees in the clinch but Heidegger avoids the damage to the body.
Heidegger has a couple of punches blocked by West.

Heidegger manages to break the clinch.

Heidegger gets tackled into the cage by West. West maintains the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Heidegger fails to land.
West using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Heidegger has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
West creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Heidegger lands with a short shot to the head.
West takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Carson West has been cut.
Heidegger is trying to break the clinch but West has him pressed against the cage.
Heidegger scores with a shot to the side of West's head.
West lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Heidegger breaks from the clinch.
West tries to clinch but Heidegger moves out of range.
Heidegger looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Carson West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heidegger avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Heidegger throws an uppercut from half a mile away. West sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
West tries to clinch but Heidegger is having none of it.

West takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

West avoids the body shot from Heidegger.

Heidegger tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch.
West misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Heidegger.
West throws a punch but it's blocked by Heidegger.
Heidegger avoids the elbow strike from West, against the cage.
Heidegger blocks an elbow strike from West.
West lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Puck Heidegger has been cut.
West blocks an uppercut.
West wants to stall.

Heidegger pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

West closes the distance and pushes Heidegger back into the cage.
West tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Heidegger avoids it.
Heidegger lands a right hand.
A nice left hand lands by Heidegger.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Carson West will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



West has taken the fight to the clinch.
West creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Heidegger's defenses.

Heidegger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
West doesn't manage to clinch there - Heidegger circles away.
Heidegger throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
West fails with an attempt to clinch.
Heidegger is looking to counter punch.
Heidegger scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
West moves to clinch but Heidegger breaks away
and Heidegger counters with a body kick.
Heidegger tries to land a front kick but West steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
West tries to clinch up.
Heidegger misses with a looping left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heidegger dances in with a quick combination. West is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Heidegger snaps West's head back. West stumbles backwards against the cage. Heidegger steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with West's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. West just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Puck Heidegger!
