PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jacques Durand (ranked 19334 p4p, 122 weight class) and Rect Umm (ranked 20866 p4p, 121 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Durand might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kaaris - S.E.V.R.A.N.. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacques Durand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Rect Umm!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durand throws a leg kick which misses Umm's front leg but catches the back leg as Umm tries to avoid it.
Durand avoids the body shot from Umm.
Umm throws a series of punches but Durand moves out of range.
Umm plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Jacques Durand has been cut.
Durand misses with a body shot.
Umm let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Durand throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Umm cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Umm blocks a head kick by Durand.
Umm punishes Durand's body with a nice straight punch.
Durand pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Umm misses.
Umm connects with a good right hand that stumbles Durand. Durand circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Durand is breathing heavily.
Durand fakes the leg kick and cracks Umm in the body.
Durand keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Umm lands a head kick that bluckles Durand and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Umm no doubt looking to push for a finish!
Durand takes one to the chin there.
Durand pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Durand connects with a solid leg kick.
We've been informed that Umm has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Durand gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Umm counters with a beautiful hook that drops Durand to the mat! Will Durand be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Umm to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Durand is up. He looks OK to continue.

Durand is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Umm engages and cracks Durand with a massive lead left hook - Durand tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Umm is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rect Umm!
A very excited looking Rect Umm made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
