Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ewen Davis (ranked 574 p4p, 74 weight class) and Prana Halo (ranked 20712 p4p, 533 weight class). Davis's entrance music is Atreyu-Ex's and oh's. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 6 losses; Ewen Davis! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 7 losses; Prana Halo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Atkins.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Davis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Halo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Davis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Davis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Halo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Davis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on Halo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Halo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Davis is looking to take a break and control but Halo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Halo won't allow Davis to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Halo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Halo keeps working.

Davis is working for a guillotine from mount but Halo frees his head quite easily.
Davis is looking to work his way around to Halo's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Davis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Halo is on top in guard.

Halo moves into full mount! Davis won't be happy about that!

Davis tries to escape the position.

Halo has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Davis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Halo looking for the choke but no joy.

Halo looking to break Davis's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Davis remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Halo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Davis turns into Halo and is now in his guard.

Davis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Davis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Davis has hold of Halo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Halo seems comfortable defending it but Davis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Halo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Halo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Davis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
