The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dye shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Whitaker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Whitaker.

Whitaker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dye shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Whitaker sprawls well. Whitaker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dye gets slowly back to his feet.
A left and a right from Whitaker both land. Nice combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whitaker darts in looking for a takedown but Dye gets double underhooks and turns Whitaker into the cage.
Dye doesn't manage to clinch there - Whitaker circles away.
Dye tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Whitaker counters with a one-two to the body.
Dye throws a leg kick but Whitaker sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Dye is trying to control. Whitaker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Dye thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Whitaker's head.

Whitaker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dye pulls his head out easily.

Dye is trying to control the action in half guard but Whitaker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dye is looking to take a break and control but Whitaker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Whitaker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Whitaker wants to improve his position but Dye is controlling well.
Whitaker tries to kick Dye off but Dye keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Dye drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dye tries to score with some ground and pound. Whitaker controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Dye wants to lay and pray for a moment but Whitaker keeps working.

Dye goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Whitaker turns into him and now he's in Dye's guard.
