PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between King Slayer (ranked 5730 p4p, 267 weight class) and Silas Tourn (ranked 5883 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, King Slayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Silas Tourn!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Slayer throws a series of punches but Tourn avoids them all with ease.
Slayer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tourn.
Some wild striking there from Slayer.
Slayer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Slayer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Slayer duly obliges.
Slayer misses with a body shot.
Slayer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Slayer gets caught flat footed, as Tourn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tourn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tourn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tourn prevents Slayer from getting back to his feet.
Tourn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tourn throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tourn misses with an uppercut.

Tourn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Slayer's guard.
Slayer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tourn controls the pace.

Tourn prevents Slayer from getting back to his feet.
Tourn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tourn chips away with some ground and pound.
Tourn content to stall in guard here.
Let's hope that Tourn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tourn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Slayer's head.
Slayer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Slayer is breathing heavily.
Tourn postures up in Slayer's guard and throws a big left but Slayer blocks it.
Tourn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Tourn wants to pass the guard but Slayer is keeping the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tourn cracks Slayer with a solid left hand.
Tourn throws a big right hand that misses.
Tourn controlling from the top position.
Slayer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tourn.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tourn loads up on a big right hand but Slayer slips the punch.
Tourn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Slayer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tourn misses the shot to the body.

Tourn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tourn lands in his opponent's guard.
Tourn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Slayer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Slayer being controlled here, momentarily.
Tourn connects with a couple of short punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Silas Tourn will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Tourn gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Tourn politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tourn prefers to stall for the moment though.

Tourn wants to control but Slayer is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tourn creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Tourn tries to advance to mount but can't.
Tourn cracks Slayer with a big right hand but Slayer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slayer is letting Tourn control him for a moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slayer seems a little lost for a moment, as Tourn dominates the positioning.

Tourn is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Slayer will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Slayer is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tourn connects with a decent elbow.

Tourn takes a little break here. Slayer wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Slayer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Tourn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Slayer looks a forlorn figure.

Tourn loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Slayer scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Tourn land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Tourn stands and salutes the crowd.
