PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milton Reeves (ranked 6339 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kosher (ranked 5488 p4p, 0 weight class). Kosher has chosen Still Dre as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. John Kosher told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Milton Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Kosher!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kosher takes the fight into the clinch.
Reeves wants to get back to striking at distance but Kosher won't allow it.
Reeves lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kosher backwards.

Kosher pulls guard successfully.

Kosher uses the cage to get back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Reeves enables Kosher to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Reeves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Reeves is adopting a defensive guard.

Reeves manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kosher has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reeves uses from the top position.
Reeves with a nice head shot there.
Kosher is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reeves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reeves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kosher has his feet on Reeves's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kosher closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reeves did well to prevent Kosher getting side control.
Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kosher decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Kosher avoids the body shot from Reeves.

Kosher rushes Reeves and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kosher has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reeves clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Reeves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You can see the frustration on Reeves's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kosher has Reeves's back but decides to stand back up... Obviously he fancies his chances in the standup department!
Reeves shoots in for a takedown but Kosher shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kosher steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Reeves.
Kosher looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kosher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reeves closes the distance and clinches up with Kosher, looking for a takedown. Reeves pushes Kosher against the cage but Kosher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Reeves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kosher throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Reeves thinks about countering with a head kick.

Kosher gets a takedown into half guard.
Kosher wants to stand up but Reeves has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reeves throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Kosher decides to stand and escape the position.
Kosher changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Kosher shoots in and gets a takedown into Reeves's guard.

Kosher stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kosher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reeves to the mat! Reeves manages to get full guard.
Reeves is breathing heavily.
Reeves is pulling down on Kosher's head. It's preventing any offense from Kosher, at least for the moment.
Reeves is trying to control the position but Kosher postures up.
Kosher wants to get up but he can't break Reeves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Reeves seems keen to control Kosher's posture.
Kosher wants to stand but Reeves is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Kosher dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Reeves clinches up with Kosher and pushes him back against the cage.
Reeves is trying to drag Kosher to the mat but Kosher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kosher turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kosher manages to end up in side control.
John Kosher has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kosher decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kosher lands with a right hand.


Reeves is rocked!
Reeves gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Kosher points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Reeves wakes up just in time to hear Kosher thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Kosher!
John Kosher thanked the fans post fight for their support.
