PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ron Cameron (ranked 5828 p4p, 500 weight class) and Tommaso Carsara (ranked 3982 p4p, 407 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tommaso Carsara was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ron Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommaso Carsara!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cameron blocks a head kick by Carsara.
A nice combination there by Carsara.
Carsara lands a head shot.

Cameron closes the distance and clinches.
Cameron changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carsara fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Carsara throws a right and a left that Cameron avoids nicely.
Cameron moves to clinch but Carsara breaks away
and Carsara counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ron Cameron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carsara takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cameron gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cameron shoots in looking for a takedown. Carsara tries to sprawl out of it but Cameron keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carsara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carsara throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cameron avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cameron throws a sloppy head kick
and Carsara counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cameron shoots in for a double leg but Carsara sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Cameron. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carsara has Cameron up against the cage in a clinch.

Cameron breaks the clinch.

Cameron clinches up with Carsara and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Carsara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carsara tries to clinch but Cameron moves out of range.

Carsara closes the distance and clinches.
Carsara is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Cameron pulls guard.
Carsara wants to stand but Cameron is controlling his posture from full guard.

Carsara stands up from Cameron's guard - Carsara perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cameron darts in looking for a takedown but Carsara gets double underhooks and turns Cameron into the cage.
Cameron shoots for a double leg takedown but Carsara sprawls well. He's pushed Cameron's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cameron definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cameron is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carsara closes the distance and clinches.
Cameron keeps control of Carsara as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Cameron jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carsara walks away with a smile on his face. Cameron gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carsara with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Carsara instigates a clinch.
Carsara wants to get back to striking at distance but Cameron won't allow it.
Carsara is trying to push Cameron away but Cameron has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Carsara breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cameron takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Carsara misses with a head kick.
Cameron misses with a takedown attempt
and Carsara counters with a right hand to the body.

Carsara closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cameron is trying to pull guard but Carsara turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Carsara wants to get back to striking at distance but Cameron won't allow it.
Cameron keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carsara's efforts to push away.
Cameron has Carsara pressed against the cage, preventing Carsara from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Carsara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carsara scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Carsara scores with a one two! Cameron had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


Cameron is rocked!


It looks like Ron Cameron has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cameron takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Cameron is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carsara lands with a big right hook that stumbles Cameron - he's out on his feet here! Carsara follows up with another monster hook that separates Cameron from consciousness! Cameron falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Carsara stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tommaso Carsara!
