Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nani Kora (ranked 3704 p4p, 387 weight class) and Brett Causey (ranked 5043 p4p, 478 weight class). Nani Kora has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nani Kora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brett Causey!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kora changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Causey tries to avoid it but Kora manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Causey to the ground. Causey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kora shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Causey's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Causey has momentary wrist control but Kora slips an elbow through the middle.
Kora lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kora's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kora is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Causey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kora is aware though and is defending well.
Kora working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kora postures up and lands a big shot to Causey's brow.
Causey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kora trying to control the position from guard on top but Causey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kora sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Causey's guard.
Nice strikes from Kora there.

Kora is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Causey sees it coming and defends easily.

Causey has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kora escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kora!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Check out the look on Kora's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Causey is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Kora lands a few punches from side control.

Causey on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Causey takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Causey is looking for a sweep.

Kora tries for a kimura but Causey is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kora landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kora lands a nice forearm strike.
Kora working the ground and pound.
Kora trying to control the position but Causey is working away.

Kora in side control lands a decent elbow.
Kora trying to control the action but Causey is working from the bottom.

Kora has hold of Causey's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Causey seems comfortable defending it but Kora has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Causey is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Causey is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kora couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nani Kora!
An out of breath Nani Kora thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
