The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amana throws a big shot that misses.
Thistlewhite changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amana tries to avoid it but Thistlewhite manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amana to the ground. Amana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A counter left hand to the body from Amana misses its target.
Thistlewhite ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Amana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Ignatius Thistlewhite has been cut.
Amana throws a shot from downtown. Thistlewhite moves away and avoids it.
Thistlewhite fails with a takedown attempt.
Lalama Amana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ignatius Thistlewhite.
Amana jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Thistlewhite shoots in for a double leg but Amana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As Thistlewhite tries to get set, Amana tries to push him back and clinch up but Thistlewhite manages to avoid the attempt.
Amana has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Navy Street MMA in the buildup to the fight.

Thistlewhite fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Amana changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
