Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aito Lager (ranked 877 p4p, 118 weight class) and Buzz Meeks (ranked 1815 p4p, 246 weight class). Lager comes into the arena with Army Of The Pharaohs - Seven blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aito Lager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Buzz Meeks!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lager connects with a nice short shot to Meeks's temple.

Lager's jab looks to have found its range, popping Meeks under the eye.
Meeks tries to close the distance and clinch but Lager swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Meeks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lager connects with a nice looking jab.

Aito Lager seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lager avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Lager. That snapped Meeks's head back.
Meeks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lager manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Meeks takes the fight into the clinch.
Lager drops down looking for an ankle pick but Meeks pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lager connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Lager has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Meeks regains guard immediately.

Lager has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lager tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Meeks is rocked!
Lager postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Meeks looks a forlorn figure.
Meeks is still in real trouble! Can Lager finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lager looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Meeks covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
