The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matusov closes the distance and clinches up with Irvin, looking for a takedown. Matusov pushes Irvin against the cage but Irvin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Irvin leaves Matusov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
