Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed ONeill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Parker!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ONeill tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Parker swivels and escapes.
Parker flicks out a counter leg kick but ONeill steps away.
Parker slaps away a takedown attempt from ONeill, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Parker unleashes a big counter combination but ONeill bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
ONeill with a lazy takedown attempt
and Parker counters with a thumping low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed ONeill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Parker counters with a body kick that stops ONeill in his tracks momentarily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It seemed like Parker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ed ONeill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
ONeill on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Parker. Parker obviously looking to wear him down.
ONeill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parker circles away.
ONeill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parker pinned against the cage. Parker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

ONeill takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
ONeill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Parker's waist but Parker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing ONeill off to one side.
A little jabbing left from Parker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Parker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Parker wants it to stay on the feet.
Parker swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Parker scores with a hook to the body. ONeill takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
ONeill has his takedown stuffed
and Parker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
ONeill is breathing heavily.
Parker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.


It looks like Ed ONeill has been cut.
Parker has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as ONeill is landing a low percentage of strikes.
ONeill misses with a takedown attempt - Parker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Parker! But no joy.
ONeill shoots in but Parker avoids the takedown attempt easily.
ONeill backing away here, and Parker unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Alex Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
ONeill shoots in and drives through. Parker sprawls well.
Parker swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Parker lands with a thumping leg kick.

ONeill shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parker sprawls well. Parker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. ONeill gets slowly back to his feet.
Parker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Parker wants it to stay on the feet.
ONeill looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
ONeill shoots in looking for a takedown but Parker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing ONeill's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

ONeill manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Parker on his heels. He'll look to pass Parker's guard now, I'm sure.

Parker kicks ONeill off and gets to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Parker counters with a nice uppercut.
An inside leg kick lands from Parker.
Parker stuffs the takedown.
Parker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between ONeill's hands.
Parker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to ONeill's calf.
ONeill shoots and misses
and Parker counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. ONeill is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That kick from Parker tenderised ONeill's leg. ONeill is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
ONeill dives in and grabs Parker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes down on ONeill's head and hops out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from ONeill.
Parker looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Parker connects with a high kick.


ONeill is rocked!

Parker gets caught napping as ONeill dives in and scores a takedown. Parker manages to retain guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
ONeill trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

ONeill drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick ONeill off! ONeill jumps back into Parker's guard.
Parker wants to sweep here but ONeill controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Parker is on top in guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.

ONeill is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Parker rolls with it to try and escape but ONeill cranks on the arm and Parker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
