Winkle has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Michaels connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like John Winkle has been cut.
Michaels throws a lazy right hand but Winkle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Winkle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Michaels throws out the jab.

Winkle went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

and Michaels counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winkle closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Michaels lands with an uppercut that bounces Winkle off the cage and back into range.
