Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akbar Shah (ranked 5757 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borys Mankowski (ranked 3303 p4p, 0 weight class). Mankowski has chosen Kękę -Wyjebane as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Akbar Shah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Borys Mankowski!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shah wants to clinch
and Mankowski connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shah scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Shah fails to land with a series of punches.
Shah scores with a jab. Mankowski acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A jab lands there for Shah.
Shah throws a left and a right that both miss

and Mankowski counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mankowski.
Shah utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mankowski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shah is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mankowski, into his guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mankowski is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shah stands up from Mankowski's guard - Shah perhaps looking for a knockout.

Shah throws a right and a left that Mankowski avoids nicely.

Shah looks to score with a jab to the body but Mankowski is just out of range.

and Mankowski counters with a single leg into guard. Shah didn't expect that.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Shah manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Shah scores with an uppercut up the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shah presses Mankowski against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Mankowski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Mankowski is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shah gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Akbar Shah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borys Mankowski.

Shah jumps guard and drags Mankowski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mankowski drops back looking for a leg! Shah is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shah manages to kick Mankowski off! Mankowski jumps back into Shah's guard.

Shah has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mankowski has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Shah throws a series of punches but Mankowski moves out of range.

Mankowski uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shah.

Shah tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mankowski paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Shah throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Mankowski counters with a shoot takedown. Shah fights it but they end up in guard.

Mankowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mankowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mankowski shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shah is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mankowski presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Shah decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mankowski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shah is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mankowski, into his guard.


Mankowski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mankowski has a closed guard, preventing Shah from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akbar Shah dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shah pushes Mankowski off looking to stand but Mankowski dives back in and keeps control.

Borys Mankowski really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that RAGS of a RONIN logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
