Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shen Jensen (ranked 25254 p4p, 628 weight class) and Blaise Modric (ranked 25288 p4p, 615 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Modric slips under a jab.
A head kick misses from Jensen.
A chopping leg kick lands by Jensen.
Jensen scores with a nice head shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jensen checks a leg kick.
Jensen swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Modric counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Modric.

Modric jumps into guard, dragging Jensen to the mat.
Modric throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Jensen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Modric is proving hard to escape from.
Jensen prevents Modric from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Modric manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jensen manages to get himself to full guard.

Jensen pushes Modric off and gets back to his feet.

Jensen lands a lovely overhand right.
Jensen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jensen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Modric circles away quickly and effectively.
Jensen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Modric throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jensen.

Modric darts in and clinches Jensen up against the cage.

Modric escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shen Jensen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Jensen misses the target.
Jensen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jensen connects with an inside leg kick.

Modric throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jensen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Modric is in Jensen's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Modric postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Modric decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jensen, up you get!

Modric blocks a jab.
Jensen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Modric under the eye.
Jensen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jensen misses with a hook. Modric ducked under it nicely.
Jensen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Modric throws out a counter right but Jensen avoids it with no problem.
Jensen is breathing heavily.
Jensen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Modric counters by moving into the clinch.

Modric tightens his grip and picks Jensen up, before dumping him to the ground. Jensen manages to land in guard.

Modric gets to his feet. Jensen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Modric counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jensen!

Modric stands up and beckons Jensen to his feet.
Jensen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Modric clinches up with Jensen and pushes him back against the cage.
Jensen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Modric is defending well for now.

Modric's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jensen. Modric does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jensen throws a leg kick

and Modric counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Modric is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Modric decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Modric's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Modric duly obliges.

Modric clinches up with Jensen and pushes him back against the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Modric.

Modric turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Modric manages to end up in side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Modric cracks Jensen with a big right hand but Jensen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jensen is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Modric decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Modric.
Jensen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Modric throws a series of punches but Jensen moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jensen throws a lazy right hand but Modric sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Modric closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Modric lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Modric manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Blaise Modric showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jensen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jensen stalks Modric and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Modric's face. Modric staggers backwards, shaken.

Modric shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jensen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Modric feints and as Jensen raises his hands in defense, Modric changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Modric decides to stand and escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Modric lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Modric must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
