The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortune circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Fortune to counter with a crisp jab.
Fortune lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Phaneuf backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jean Luc Phaneuf has been cut.
Phaneuf tries to clinch but Fortune moves away
and Fortune counters with a left to the body.
Fortune throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Phaneuf doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Phaneuf darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Phaneuf misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fortune.
Fortune has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fortune ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Phaneuf moves away.
Phaneuf throws a body punch but Fortune moves out of range.
Phaneuf misses with a hook
and Fortune counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Phaneuf takes the fight into the clinch.
Fortune blocks a body shot from Phaneuf.

Phaneuf lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Phaneuf tries to throw a body punch but Fortune avoids it by throwing Phaneuf back against the cage.
Phaneuf swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fortune lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Phaneuf backwards.
Phaneuf misses with a hook from the clinch.
Fortune lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fortune gets through Phaneuf's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fortune swings wildly with an uppercut but Phaneuf uses good head movement to avoid it.

Phaneuf is rocked!
Phaneuf tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Phaneuf is still on wobbly legs! Can Fortune finish him?

Phaneuf seems to have recovered his senses.

Phaneuf lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Phaneuf throws a punch but it's blocked by Fortune.
Fortune lands a right hand.
Phaneuf throws a head punch that misses.
Fortune pushes Phaneuf against the cage. Fortune is working some dirty boxing. Fortune pushes off with a quick right hook! Phaneuf goes down! Phaneuf tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Fortune moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
