PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Graham (ranked 4196 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Rekis (ranked 15198 p4p, 0 weight class). Rekis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. AC/DC - Thunderstruck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Graham lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rekis doesn't seem phased though.
Rekis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Graham lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Graham lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Rekis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Graham regains guard immediately.
Graham has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rekis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Graham not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rekis works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Graham tries to get to full guard but Rekis has control of the leg.

Rekis seems to be working for a kimura but Graham defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rekis uses his free foot to push down on Graham's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Graham.

It looks like Glenn Graham has been cut.
Rekis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Graham on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Graham tries to get out of the position.
Graham tries to hold on but Rekis pushes him away.
Graham is bucking up trying to escape but Rekis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Graham tries to improve his position but Rekis has taken his back! Rekis has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Graham tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Rekis pushes Graham away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
