Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Handle (ranked 1927 p4p, 265 weight class) and Olaf Frost (ranked 2250 p4p, 298 weight class). Handle's entrance music is Right On. A fine choice. Olaf Frost will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 33 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Handle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olaf Frost!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Frost pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Frost throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Handle fires out a quick counter leg kick but Frost just manages to avoid it.
Frost throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Handle sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A swing and a miss from Frost.

Frost looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Handle works his way to full guard. Good work.
Frost trying to control the position from guard on top but Handle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Frost goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Handle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Frost's guard! Nice work there by Handle!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Handle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Frost needs to keep his hands up - Handle had a free shot at his head there.

and Handle finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Frost throws a solid leg kick but Handle takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Frost.

Handle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frost sprawls well. Frost wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Handle gets slowly back to his feet.

Max Handle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olaf Frost.
Frost fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Handle manages to avoid it.
Handle tests Frost's chin there with a solid looking shot.

A solid leg kick lands there for Handle.

Handle throws a shot from downtown. Frost moves away and avoids it.
Handle shoots in but Frost avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Handle looks to land a body kick but Frost moved away.
We've been told by Handle's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Frost throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Handle sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Frost throws a body shot but no joy.
Frost throws a leg kick that misses.
Handle takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Handle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frost is trying to defend but Handle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Max Handle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Handle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Frost working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Handle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Handle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Frost is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Frost is on top in guard.

Handle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Handle will probably get the nod.

Frost pushes a forearm under Handle's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Handle is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Olaf Frost was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
