Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kota Omega (ranked 5266 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horus Mahmoud (ranked 5323 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omega scores with a leg kick.
Omega fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Omega throws a leg kick which misses Mahmoud's front leg but catches the back leg as Mahmoud tries to avoid it.
Omega misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mahmoud looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That kick from Omega tenderised Mahmoud's leg. Mahmoud is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mahmoud moves out of range as Omega strikes.

Mahmoud shoots in and gets a takedown into Omega's guard.
Mahmoud is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Mahmoud might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mahmoud's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Omega is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mahmoud postures up.
Mahmoud is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mahmoud advances nicely into full mount.
Mahmoud takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Let's hope that Mahmoud has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
