Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clinton Larsen (ranked 7421 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico McGregor (ranked 25419 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Beleiver kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larsen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McGregor lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
McGregor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fight stays on the outside here - Larsen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGregor can do anything to dispel that myth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Larsen connects with a nice short shot to McGregor's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGregor gets caught napping as Larsen dives in and scores a takedown. McGregor manages to retain guard.
McGregor is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

McGregor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McGregor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Larsen is working to tighten his grip on McGregor's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McGregor has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Larsen is really squeezing tight and eventually McGregor passes out! Larsen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
