Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quirez tries to keep at a distance but Mohawk has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mohawk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mohawk makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Quirez jumps guard and drags Mohawk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Quirez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mohawk working for submissions but it's allowed Quirez to get to half guard.

Quirez wants to stand up but Mohawk has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mohawk can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mohawk is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mohawk looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Quirez pushes past his half guard into mount!

Quirez looking to secure an arm triangle but Mohawk defends it well.
Mohawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quirez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mohawk tries to improve his position but Quirez has taken his back! Quirez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Mohawk tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Quirez pushes Mohawk away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
