Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobbie Carroll (ranked 5363 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Strong (ranked 5365 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Strong!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Strong with that takedown attempt.
Carroll wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Strong drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carroll wants to stand but Strong is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carroll is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Carroll is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Strong defends well.
Carroll is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Strong is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strong forces his way into half guard.
Carroll really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carroll manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Strong keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Carroll decides to pull guard.
Strong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Strong controls from within his opponent's guard.
Strong working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carroll's head.
Strong tries to free his leg and advance position but Carroll is retaining full guard.
Carroll wants to stand up but Strong is controlling him.
Strong with a nice head shot there.
Strong wants to control from the top but Carroll keeps moving.
Strong sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Carroll is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Carroll escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carroll swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Strong.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carroll throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Strong tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carroll is in Strong's guard.
Carroll knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Strong on the ground.
Strong wants to sweep here but Carroll controlling him for the moment.
Carroll's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Strong looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Carroll sitting in guard here, content to control.

Carroll decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Strong gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carroll to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Strong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carroll's guard.

Strong looks winded!
Strong lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Strong won't allow Carroll to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strong won't allow Carroll to sweep him here.
Carroll is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Strong is controlling him.

Strong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carroll keeping full guard, as Strong tries to pass.
Carroll wants to stand but Strong is controlling the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Strong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Strong won't allow Carroll to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Strong lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Strong preventing the sweep.
Strong is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carroll is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobbie Carroll will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Carroll shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Strong wriggles free and stands up.
Carroll lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strong shoots in but Carroll avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Strong is standing up over Carroll. Carroll looks to escape but Strong dives into side control.

Carroll is looking for a sweep.
Carroll is pushing Strong's head away, looking to escape. Strong manages to hold on to the position though.
Mark Strong has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carroll manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Carroll is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Strong is working for a submission of some sort.
Strong scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Strong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Strong wants to pass the guard but Carroll is defending well.
Carroll wants to get back to his feet.
Strong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Carroll is not content to let Strong control the position.
Carroll wants to get back to his feet.

Carroll misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Carroll is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carroll is trying to stand up here but Strong is controlling him well.
Carroll is pressing down on Strong's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Strong connects with a couple of short punches.

Carroll is trying to hold Strong in close to prevent damage but Strong has managed to pass into half guard.

Carroll is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Strong has latched onto it... Big trouble! Strong pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Carroll is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Strong!
