Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Hicks (ranked 24904 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Parsons (ranked 25400 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Terrance Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Parsons!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hicks changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parsons looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Parsons tries to improve position but can't.

Hicks is trying to get an arm triangle but Parsons is defending well.
Hicks in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Hicks stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Parsons dives in and grabs Hicks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hicks pushes down on Parsons's head and hops out.
Hicks seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Parsons avoids the head kick by Hicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hicks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hicks wants it to stay on the feet.
Parsons misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Terrance Hicks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Parsons.

Parsons tries to stall but Hicks uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Parsons is trying to break the clinch but Hicks is controlling him.

Hicks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hicks shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Parsons kicks off Hicks and gets to his feet.

Hicks shoots in and bounces Parsons off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hicks stands up and waves to Parsons to follow him.

Hicks closes the distance and clinches.

Parsons misses the body punch
and Hicks counters with a left and a right that stings Parsons.

Hicks takes the fight into the clinch.

Hicks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parsons shoots for a double leg takedown but Hicks sprawls well. He's pushed Parsons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hicks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hicks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parsons is fending him off so far but Hicks persists. Nope, Parsons circles away and we're back to standing.

Parsons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hicks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parsons's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hicks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Parsons gets caught flat footed, as Hicks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Parsons is looking to stand back up but Hicks counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Parsons.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Parsons wants to control but Hicks is keeping busy.
Hicks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Hicks decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terrance Hicks dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hicks closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Terrance Hicks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hicks tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Parsons.

We've been informed that Parsons has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Parsons is breathing heavily.

Parsons wants to get back to his feet but Hicks is dominant here and he's now got Parsons's back!

Parsons rolls, trying to escape but Hicks keeps control of the position.

Parsons trying to control the action but Hicks just sinks the hooks in.

Hicks has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Parsons has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hicks is persistently looking for the submission but Parsons is defending it well.

Hicks is looking for a rear naked choke here but Parsons reverses the position brilliantly into Hicks's guard!

Hicks pushes Parsons off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hicks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Parsons tries to close the distance and clinch but Hicks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hicks shoots in but Parsons avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Parsons tries to clinch up but Hicks circles away and keeps his distance.
Hicks fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Parsons avoids it really well and circles away.
A countering left hand to the body from Parsons misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terrance Hicks dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Hicks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parsons sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hicks somewhat.

Terrance Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parsons throws a leg kick but Hicks checks it.

Parsons gets caught flat footed, as Hicks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hicks would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hicks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Hicks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Parsons shoots in looking for a takedown but Hicks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Parsons's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hicks is looking for a counter combo.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Parsons!

Hicks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Parsons tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Parsons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hicks swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Parsons is now in Hicks's guard. A big mistake from Hicks there, giving up the dominant position!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hicks has control of Parsons's left arm, preventing Parsons from doing any damage.

Hicks scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Hicks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hicks is looking to stand up but Parsons isn't so interested in that idea.
Parsons wants to control from the top but Hicks keeps moving.

Hicks kicks Parsons off and gets to his feet.

Hicks shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hicks drops an elbow to the side of Parsons's head.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mike Parsons.
I think Hicks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
