Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Whorely Alvarez (ranked 3349 p4p, 340 weight class) and Karl Lomant (ranked 4004 p4p, 398 weight class). Whorely Alvarez had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Karl Lomant acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lomant changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Lomant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lomant drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lomant seems to have locked his on tight now - Alvarez screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lomant, as he picks up the win!
