Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takahashi Ryu!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assad misses with a straight left.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ryu. Assad does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ryu misses with an uppercut.
Assad scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ryu throws out a loose jab but Assad uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ryu ducks under a wild hook from Assad.
Assad throws a hook but Ryu avoids it easily.
Ryu throws a body punch but Assad moves out of range.
Assad half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ryu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ryu tries to close the distance and clinch but Assad swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ryu connects with a crisp jab.
Ryu needs to keep his hands up - Assad had a free shot at his head there.

Assad looks to land a combination. Ryu sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Assad throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ryu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Assad lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Assad fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ryu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Assad is trying to force a seperation but Ryu has the dominant position.

Assad has had enough of the clinch but Ryu keeps him there for the moment.
Ryu lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Assad or not.

Assad works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Ryu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Assad rolls with it to try and escape but Ryu cranks on the arm and Assad is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
