Jenkins has chosen Iron Man as his entrance music. Cody Battist has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battist circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Battist swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sloppy strikes from Battist. Those never looked like landing.

It looks like A A Ron Jenkins has been cut.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Battist swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Battist swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Battist swats away the attempt to clinch by Jenkins.
Battist misses with a series of wild punches.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Battist paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jenkins looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Battist swings for the body but Jenkins moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jenkins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Battist finds it's way round the side to connect with Jenkins's head.
Jenkins missing with a left hand there. Battist was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Battist swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Battist circles away from the clinch attempt.
Battist takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Cody Battist has been cut.

and Battist makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Battist lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Battist throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jenkins walks into a straight right hand from Battist.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Battist paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Battist slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That has opened up A A Ron Jenkins's cut even more.
Battist cracks Jenkins with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Battist has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Jenkins to stand back up!
Jenkins is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Jenkins stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Battist runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cody Battist!
A A Ron Jenkins spoke after the fight, saying 'My opponent simply wanted it more than I did. I am going to reevaluate my game plan and come back stronger. '.
