Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rise Of A Champion kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jimmy Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jones has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McTavern is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jimmy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McTavern paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from McTavern.
McTavern slips under a jab.
McTavern takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jones.
McTavern misses with a double jab.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jones - that will leave a mark!

Good standup being displayed there by Jones as he connects with a hook.
McTavern lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones slips a jab from McTavern.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jones. That's going to slow McTavern down.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McTavern finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.

and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A shot to the liver by McTavern. Beautiful body shot.
McTavern connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
McTavern lands with a shot to the body.
Jones jabs McTavern right on the nose. McTavern blinks but takes it well.
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
McTavern slips under a jab from Jones.
Jones misses with a double jab
and McTavern counters with a right hand to the body.
McTavern throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McTavern paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McTavern connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Jones clinches with his opponent.
Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McTavern's elbow.
Jones throws a punch but it's blocked by McTavern.
McTavern lands a left hand.

McTavern pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones throws a half hearted mid kick.
A head kick misses from Jones.
McTavern throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McTavern throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Jones crashing down! Jones tries to stagger back to his feet but McTavern just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Jones asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Murky McTavern!
