Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Yoshi (ranked 2883 p4p, 152 weight class) and Bernand Patterson (ranked 24923 p4p, 278 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonardo Yoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernand Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Yoshi throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Yoshi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Patterson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Yoshi wants to stand back up but Patterson manages to pass into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yoshi parries the strikes from Patterson easily there. Patterson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yoshi to escape.

You can see the frustration on Yoshi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Patterson wants to control but Yoshi is keeping him busy.
Yoshi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Patterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yoshi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Yoshi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Patterson is fighting to break Yoshi's control of his arms but Yoshi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Patterson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yoshi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yoshi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yoshi!

Yoshi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Patterson sees it coming and defends easily.

Bernand Patterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Yoshi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yoshi has managed to get both his arms back between Patterson's legs - danger averted.

Yoshi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well Patterson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
