Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Bonin (ranked 5541 p4p, 496 weight class) and Sun Wookie (ranked 7377 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonin throws a lazy uppercut
and Wookie counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bonin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Sun Wookie has been cut.
Bonin swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Wookie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wookie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wookie decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bonin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight.
Wookie lands a high kick!
Wookie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bonin finds it's way round the side to connect with Wookie's head.
Wookie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bonin.
Bonin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bonin just misses with a punch to the body.

Wookie fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bonin to the ground. Wookie is now in Bonin's guard.

Bonin has his foot on Wookie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wookie works his way back into a safe position though.

Bonin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wookie defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wookie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bonin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wookie has managed to get both his arms back between Bonin's legs - danger averted.

Bonin controls Wookie momentarily but Wookie frees himself.
We've been informed that Wookie has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Wookie throws a strike but Bonin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bonin wants to control from the top but Wookie keeps moving.
Bonin is really struggling to control Wookie but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that William Bonin will probably get the nod.

Bonin looks to land a left hand but Wookie moved out of range nicely.

Wookie feints and as Bonin raises his hands in defense, Wookie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bonin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wookie has picked Bonin up and slammed him! Bonin can't keep hold of the triangle and Wookie manages to pass to side control!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wookie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bonin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wookie is working away from the top position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wookie takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A lazy left from Bonin finds it's target.

Sun Wookie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bonin enables Wookie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bonin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Bonin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wookie defends it easily.

Wookie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Bonin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Bonin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wookie on the side of the head.

That has opened up Sun Wookie's cut even more.
Bonin cracks Wookie with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bonin tries to lock up and control but Wookie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
