Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Micky Coetzee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Dukes!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dukes darts in and clinches Coetzee up against the cage.

Coetzee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Coetzee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dukes looking to sit in guard and control but Coetzee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Coetzee decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dukes's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dukes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Dukes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dukes pulls Coetzee in close to prevent any damage.

Dukes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Coetzee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dukes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Coetzee trying to control the position but instead, Dukes has worked for underhooks and has pushed Coetzee into the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Coetzee creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
