PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crenflow Dolla (ranked 1202 p4p, 180 weight class) and Leif Erikson (ranked 897 p4p, 137 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Erikson 's choice of entrance music: Into Battle - Ensiferum. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erikson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dolla stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Erikson blocks a jab.
Dolla takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Erikson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Dolla lands with a hook. Erikson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Dolla goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It seemed like Erikson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Erikson throws a sloppy head kick and Dolla moves out of range easily.
Dolla misses with a looping right.
Erikson avoids the head kick by Dolla.
Erikson scores with a nice strike.

It looks like Crenflow Dolla has been cut.
Dolla has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hart Family Dungeon in the buildup to the fight.
Dolla throws a looping overhand right but Erikson ducks down to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Erikson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dolla steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Erikson . That one must have hurt.
Dolla throws a push kick but Erikson slaps the foot to one side.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dolla.

Dolla throws a leg kick
and Erikson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Erikson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dolla counters with a nice low kick that buckles Erikson 's knee momentarily.
Erikson misses with an uppercut.
Dolla throws a sloppy head kick and Erikson moves out of range easily.
Erikson scores with a jab. Dolla acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Erikson connects with a body shot that sends Dolla's belly button to the back.
Erikson connects with a solid leg kick.
Dolla keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Erikson .
Dolla is looking for a counter combo.
Erikson scores with a nice head shot.
Erikson tries to land a front kick but Dolla steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Erikson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Erikson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Dolla takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Erikson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dolla looks to score with a jab to the body but Erikson is just out of range.
Erikson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Erikson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

enabling Erikson to counter with a crisp jab.
Dolla misses with a kick to the body.
Erikson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Erikson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dolla.
Erikson tests Dolla's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Erikson catches Dolla with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Dolla is rocked!

Crenflow Dolla's cut is getting worse.
Erikson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dolla had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Erikson has cracked Dolla with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Erikson lands another huge swinging hook and Dolla tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Dolla, before Erikson can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Leif Erikson !
Leif Erikson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
