The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Klaas instigates a clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ground and pound from Jacques seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Klaas wants to get back to his feet.

Klaas can't do much from the bottom here.
Klaas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacques on the ground.

Jacques is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Klaas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Klaas wants to pass to mount but Jacques is defending the position.
Jacques is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Klaas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Klaas's back!

Jacques wants to control but Klaas is keeping busy.

Jacques is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jacques looking to score a takedown here. Klaas is defending well but Jacques drives through and ends up in Klaas's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Klaas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jacques has gone for a leg lock! Klaas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jacques's guard.


Jacques has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Klaas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
No luck for Jacques with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klaas rushes Jacques and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jacques is breathing heavily.
Jacques is trying to pull guard but Klaas has him pressed against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Klaas lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Klaas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Klaas has managed to clinch.
Jacques working hard to break the clinch.

Klaas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Klaas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jacques is looking to reverse the position.
Jacques takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Klaas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Klaas scores with a couple of short elbows.


Jacques is rocked!

Klaas stands up and beckons Jacques to his feet.
Jacques is still on wobbly legs! Can Klaas finish him?

Klaas pushes Jacques up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Klaas working the clinch nicely. Jacques is working for position but Klaas cracks him with a big knee to the head! Jacques crumples up against the cage and Klaas lands two more shots before the ref can save Jacques! This one is all over!
