Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Brian Marais (ranked 4046 p4p, 389 weight class) and Caio Barbosa (ranked 5933 p4p, 475 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marais might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Offspring - Come Out And Play. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Marais shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barbosa as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown attempt by Marais or perhaps it was just good defense by Barbosa, which made it look bad.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Marais is staying active underneath Barbosa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Barbosa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marais, who protects the arm well.
Barbosa has hold of Marais's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Marais seems comfortable defending it but Barbosa has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Marais is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Marais is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Barbosa couldn't care less - he's delighted!

After the fight, Caio Barbosa was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Brian Marais was interviewed post fight and said 'Not to get too technical, but according to chemistry, alcohol is a solution.'. |
