Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Petey Williams (ranked 7416 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Dan (ranked 4983 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Petey Williams has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Petey Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Dan !
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dan goes for a double leg but Williams avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Williams continues to drive forward.

Dan forces Williams back against the cage and clinches.
Dan has Williams pressed against the cage, preventing Williams from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Williams tries to break the clinch but Dan is controlling the position.

Williams has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Dan is trying to shake Williams off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Williams won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Williams moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dan eats them both and turns towards Williams to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Dan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dan showed some decent athleticism there.
Williams is trying to maintain the position but Dan is very close to passing his half guard.
Dan should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Williams knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dan in particular looking to stall.
Williams tries to kick Dan off but Dan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dan prevents Williams from standing back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Williams.
Dan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Williams scores with the left hand. Dan knows he should have avoided that one.

Williams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Dan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Dan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dan slows the pace down in half guard.

Williams kicks Dan off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

enabling Williams to counter with a crisp jab.
Williams pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Williams stalks Dan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dan 's face. Dan staggers backwards, shaken.

Dan throws a head kick that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dan .
Williams is breathing heavily.
Williams wants to clinch.
Williams moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dan .
Williams looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Dan takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Williams misses with a double jab

and Dan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dan .

Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.
Dan wants to counter the offense by Williams and move into the clinch position.
Dan keeps the fight on the outside.
Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dan shoots in and drives through. Williams sprawls well.
Petey Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Dan .
No luck for Dan with that takedown attempt.
Williams clobbers Dan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Dan shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Dan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Williams is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dan can do to turn this around?

Williams lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dan shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dan 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dan takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Williams throws a nice looking combination but Dan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Dan counters with a single leg into guard. Williams didn't expect that.
Dan tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard.

Williams is looking to stand up but Dan isn't so interested in that idea.

Dan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dan postures up in Williams's guard and throws a big left but Williams blocks it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A punch lands to the side of Dan 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Williams is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Dan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Williams.
Williams moves in looking to clinch but Dan pushes him off.

and Dan counters with a shoot takedown. Williams fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Williams has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Dan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Dan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Dan persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing.
Williams is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Dan avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Petey Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
