Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Long (ranked 20558 p4p, 438 weight class) and Michael Kimura (ranked 4106 p4p, 309 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimura drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kimura is pushing down on Long's leg trying to pass to half guard. Long is fighting to maintain full guard but Kimura has managed to sneak the leg through.
Long is trying to stand back up but Kimura is controlling him
Kimura content to control rather than advance.
Long tries to kick Kimura off but Kimura keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Long trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Long doesn't manage to clinch there - Kimura circles away.
Kimura drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Long defends it well.
No luck for Long with that takedown attempt.
Kimura tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Long looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Long gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kimura to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Long wants to stand up but Kimura is controlling him.
Kimura stands and throws Long's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Long is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Kimura content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Long is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kimura has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kimura advances to mount.
Kimura controlling the pace for now.

It looks like Kimura might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Long is trying to escape the mount but Kimura keeps good control and instead manages to take Long's back.

Kimura is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, with Kimura on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Long is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Long is trying to get back to his feet but Kimura has full control of the position and if anything, Long has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Kimura is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Kimura is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Long has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kimura is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kimura displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Long.

Long works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Kimura tries to pull guard but Long holds him up against the cage and eventually Kimura drops back down to his feet.

Long lands a slapping body shot.

Long tries to clinch there but Kimura circles away.
Long lands a leg kick that knocks Kimura off balance momentarily.
Brandon Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Long stalks Kimura and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kimura's face. Kimura staggers backwards, shaken.
Kimura looks for a takedown but Long sprawls well.
Brandon Long has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Kimura.
Long tries a head kick but it misses.

Kimura shoots in and bounces Long off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Long is looking to stand back up but Kimura counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kimura's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Long scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kimura manages to mount him!

Kimura tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Michael Kimura has got the better of the ground game so far.
Long tries to buck Kimura off but he can't manage it.

Long somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Kimura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Long sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Long throws a big counter combination but Kimura scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kimura misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice sprawl there from Kimura as Long shoots in.
Long stuns Kimura with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Kimura tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Long swivels and escapes.

and Kimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Long won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kimura in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Long wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Long dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kimura on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Long tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Kimura counters with a single leg into guard. Long didn't expect that.
Long is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Long is retaining full guard.
Kimura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Long is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kimura dives into side control.

Long is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kimura has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kimura tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Kimura is still trying to improve position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kimura happy to just control the position for now.

Kimura stands up and beckons Long to his feet.

Long closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Long pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Long rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kimura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kimura dodges the punch combination from Long.

Long moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Long instigates a clinch.
Long is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Long's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kimura shoots in for a double leg but Long sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kimura closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Long's guard.

Long wants to stand but Kimura is controlling the position.

Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Long wants to stand up but Kimura is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brandon Long showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Long has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
