Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricardo Richard!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Richard lands.
Richard scoring well with a low kick there.
Richard moves in looking to clinch but Pierre pushes him off.
Richard swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pierre changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Pierre takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Richard throws a sloppy head kick

and Pierre counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pierre slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Richard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Richard seems to be looking for submissions.
Pierre is doing well to control the position and prevent Richard from advancing to side control.

Poor strikes thrown by Richard there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richard is stalling here. Pierre is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Richard seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pierre has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richard throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pierre escapes and throws Richard's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Pierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richard's waist but Richard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pierre off to one side.
Richard shoots in but no luck this time.

Ricardo Richard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pierre moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Pierre is holding his hands too far apart here. Richard throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Pierre is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricardo Richard!
After the fight, Ricardo Richard was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
