PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stick Kingkong (ranked 3359 p4p, 382 weight class) and Dzik Poddawacz (ranked 3443 p4p, 391 weight class). Dzik Poddawacz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stick Kingkong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dzik Poddawacz!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingkong thuds a left hand into Poddawacz's body.
Kingkong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Poddawacz circles away quickly and effectively.
And Poddawacz tries to counter it with a takedown but Kingkong pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kingkong scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kingkong goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kingkong. That's going to slow Poddawacz down.

Poddawacz shoots in looking for a takedown but Kingkong manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Poddawacz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Poddawacz dives in and grabs Kingkong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kingkong pushes down on Poddawacz's head and hops out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kingkong rushes Poddawacz with punches - Poddawacz moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Poddawacz goes down! Kingkong follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Our winner, Stick Kingkong, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
