Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezequiel Bentley (ranked 5180 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Smith (ranked 5197 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ezequiel Bentley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bentley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bentley is looking to stand back up but Smith counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bentley.

Bentley wants to get back to his feet.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bentley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bentley manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Smith keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Bentley is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.

Smith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bentley stops Smith from standing up.
Bentley throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely.
Bentley distracts Smith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Bentley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bentley has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bentley drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Bentley off! Bentley jumps back into Smith's guard.

Bentley postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it.
Bentley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Smith looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bentley has picked Smith up and slammed him! Smith can't keep hold of the triangle and Bentley manages to pass to side control!
You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bentley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bentley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bentley's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Bentley! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Smith has tapped! This one is allllll over!
