PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hin Areni (ranked 4546 p4p, 449 weight class) and Dirty WhiteBoy (ranked 4514 p4p, 447 weight class). Areni comes to the cage accompanied by Mosaique. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
WhiteBoy throws a looping overhand right but Areni ducks down to avoid it.
WhiteBoy looks to land a left hand but Areni moved out of range nicely.
Areni is looking for a counter combo.
WhiteBoy throws a jab when Areni was well out of range.
WhiteBoy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Areni moves away from the strike by WhiteBoy.
WhiteBoy misses with an uppercut. Areni saw that one coming.
Areni misses with a hook.

Areni clinches up with WhiteBoy and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Areni swings wildly with an uppercut but WhiteBoy uses good head movement to avoid it.
WhiteBoy is trying to force a seperation but Areni has the dominant position.

Areni shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has WhiteBoy pinned against the cage. WhiteBoy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dirty WhiteBoy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
WhiteBoy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Areni was well out of range. Poor timing from WhiteBoy.

WhiteBoy throws a hook to the side of Areni's head but Areni sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
WhiteBoy misses with an uppercut.
Areni tries to counter by clinching up but WhiteBoy breaks away and moves out of range.
WhiteBoy throws a nice looking combination but Areni bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
WhiteBoy throws a shot from downtown. Areni moves away and avoids it.
WhiteBoy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Areni looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

and Areni makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dirty WhiteBoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As WhiteBoy tries to get set, Areni tries to push him back and clinch up but WhiteBoy manages to avoid the attempt.

and Areni counters with a single leg into guard. WhiteBoy didn't expect that.
Areni trying to control the position from guard on top but WhiteBoy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if WhiteBoy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Areni postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Areni lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
WhiteBoy is still in real trouble! Can Areni finish him?
WhiteBoy has momentary wrist control but Areni slips an elbow through the middle.
Areni is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Areni postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! WhiteBoy covers up, he's hurt! Areni keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Areni and the ref steps in to end the fight! Areni can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
