PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Archibald Knox (ranked 616 p4p, 82 weight class) and Darnell Cane (ranked 891 p4p, 122 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Archibald Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darnell Cane!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Cane misses its intended target.
Knox ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cane moves away.
Cane feints the counter takedown.
Knox throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Knox lands with a nice combination. Cane backs away looking to recover.
Knox throws a nice outside leg kick.
Knox misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cane throws a lazy uppercut
and Knox counters with a nice body shot.
Knox connects with a crisp jab.
Knox on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Knox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cane has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Cane shoots for a takedown but Knox saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cane has closed the distance and engaged Knox in a clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Archibald Knox will probably get the nod.
That's time! Knox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Cane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Knox appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Knox moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Cane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cane lands in his opponent's guard.
