Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Connor McGregor (ranked 5292 p4p, 218 weight class) and Theodore Nouveau (ranked 4646 p4p, 334 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nouveau throws a body kick that misses.
An attempted straight right counter from McGregor misses the target.
McGregor stalks Nouveau and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nouveau's face. Nouveau staggers backwards, shaken.

Nouveau tries to work over McGregor's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
McGregor using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nouveau has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Nouveau ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nouveau no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nouveau escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGregor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McGregor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nouveau seems keen to control McGregor's posture.

Nouveau has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think McGregor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nouveau has tightened it up now! McGregor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
