Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Robertson (ranked 5514 p4p, 575 weight class) and Mike Potter (ranked 7207 p4p, 618 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Potter!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Potter drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Robertson defends it well.
Potter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Robertson moves away.
Good leg kick by Robertson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Robertson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Potter to the ground. Robertson is now in Potter's guard.
Robertson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Potter is proving hard to escape from.
Potter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robertson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Potter for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Robertson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Robertson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Potter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Robertson closes the distance and clinches up with Potter, looking for a takedown. Robertson pushes Potter against the cage but Potter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Robertson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Robertson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Potter jabs Robertson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Robertson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Robertson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Robertson lands a leg kick that knocks Potter off balance momentarily.

Robertson clinches up with Potter and pushes him back against the cage.
Robertson tries a body shot but Potter blocks it.

Potter tries to keep at a distance but Robertson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Robertson tries to score a body lock takedown but Potter shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Robertson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Potter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Robertson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Potter has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Robertson escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Robertson!

Potter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Potter is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Robertson rather than just go for the knockout.
Potter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Robertson.
Potter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Robertson dives in and grabs Potter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Potter pushes down on Robertson's head and hops out.
Potter misses with a series of wild punches.
Potter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Potter darts in looking for a takedown but Robertson gets double underhooks and turns Potter into the cage.
It looked like Robertson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chris Robertson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Potter has a hand on Robertson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Robertson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Potter wants to control but Robertson is having none of it.

Robertson cracks Potter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Robertson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mike Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chris Robertson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Robertson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
