PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Hibernaugh (ranked 7447 p4p, 521 weight class) and Zuna Zai (ranked 5350 p4p, 462 weight class). Hibernaugh comes to the cage accompanied by Hyper, Hyper. The key to victory for Steve Hibernaugh has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zai dives in and grabs Hibernaugh's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hibernaugh pushes down on Zai's head and hops out.

Zai fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hibernaugh to the ground. Zai is now in Hibernaugh's guard.
Hibernaugh is looking to stand back up but Zai counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hibernaugh.

Hibernaugh tries to kick Zai off but Zai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hibernaugh on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Zai seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Zai takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zai is working Hibernaugh over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hibernaugh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zai on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zai controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hibernaugh lands a jab to Zai's midsection.
Zai tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hibernaugh defends well and Zai ends up having to push Hibernaugh into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It looks like Zuna Zai has been cut.
Hibernaugh stops a takedown attempt from Zai.

Zuna Zai's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zuna Zai's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Steve Hibernaugh really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Vegan Gains logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
