Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iosue Nicu (ranked 545 p4p, 82 weight class) and Cleon Wright (ranked 974 p4p, 146 weight class). Nicu comes to the cage accompanied by It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. Cleon Wright has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wright's hands.
Nicu slips a straight right by Wright.
Wright just misses with a punch to the body.
Nicu appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Nicu lands a big head kick that sends Wright tumbling to the mat! Nicu takes a step backwards and waves Wright back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Cleon Wright has been cut.
Wright fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nicu manages to avoid it.
Wright lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nicu circles away quickly and effectively.
An attempted straight right counter from Nicu misses the target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nicu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wright.

It looks like Iosue Nicu has been cut.

and Nicu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nicu works Wright's body with a nice hook.
Nicu seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Wright feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nicus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Wright looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Cleon Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

enabling Nicu to counter with a crisp jab.
Nicu takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wright throws a low kick, looking for Nicu's leg but Nicu calmly moves out of range.
Nicu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Wright lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Wright uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Nicu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wright lands with a shot to the body.
Wright lands a nice hook to Nicu's body. Nicu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The cut above Cleon Wright's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Nicu throws a looping overhand right but Wright ducks down to avoid it.
Nicu slips a jab from Wright.
Nicu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Wright tries to land a front kick but Nicu steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A little feinted left hand from Nicu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Wright fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nicu looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Wright takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wright displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nicu throws out the jab.

Nicu drops his hands momentarily and Wright takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nicu throws out a loose jab but Wright uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wright throws a right and a left that Nicu avoids nicely.
Nicu misses with a kick to the body
and Wright counters with a stiff right hand.
Wright loads up on a big right hand but Nicu slips the punch.
As Wright backs away, Nicu returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
A slow jab from Wright misses its intended target.

Nicu takes a swing at Wright's ribcage but misses.
Nicu lunges at Wright with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wright's hand.
Wright swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wright smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Nicu throws a lazy right hand but Wright sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A little jabbing left from Wright on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Wright throws a hook but Nicu blocks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nicu moves away from the strike by Wright.
Nicu avoids the body shot from Wright.
Nicu lands with a nice body kick.
Nicu throws a jab when Wright was well out of range.
Wright misses with a double jab.
Nicu throws a shot from downtown. Wright moves away and avoids it.
Nicu throws a body punch but Wright moves out of range.

and Nicu counters with a thumping low kick.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Iosue Nicu will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nicu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A combination from Wright does no damage.

Nicu lands a nice shot that snaps Wright's head back.

Cleon Wright's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
A jab from Wright misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wright lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nicu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nicu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cleon Wright's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A very excited looking Iosue Nicu made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
