PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stud Toddler (ranked 588 p4p, 23 weight class) and Frank Martin (ranked 1340 p4p, 39 weight class). The key to victory for Stud Toddler has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stud Toddler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Martin!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toddler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Toddler wants it to stay on the feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Martin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Martin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Toddler throws out the jab.
Toddler tries to clinch but Martin is having none of it.
Martin appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Toddler throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Martin.
Martin wants to stand but Toddler is controlling his arm.

Martin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Martin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Toddler, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Martin wants to control but Toddler is keeping him busy.

Toddler's coaches at Team Alpha Midget have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Martin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Martin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Martin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Toddler has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Martin but great work by Toddler.

Martin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stud Toddler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Martin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Martin extends the arm and Toddler is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Martin!
Frank Martin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
