The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
At Night is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
No luck for Markell with that takedown attempt.
At Night slips a jab from Markell.
Markell swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Markell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Markell falls off balance throwing a combination
and At Night connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Markell closes this distance looking for a takedown but At Night circles away.
At Night looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Markell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming At Night to the mat! At Night manages to get full guard.

At Night had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Markell defends it easily.
Markell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Markell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
At Night is trying to control the position but Markell postures up.
Our spies down at at Doherty's Gym inform us that At Night has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Markell connects with a couple of short punches.
Markell wants to pass the guard but At Night is keeping the position.

At Night wants to sweep here but Markell controlling him for the moment.

Markell postures up in At Night's guard and throws a big left but At Night blocks it.

At Night escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Markell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

At Night utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
At Night is controlling Markell's posture.

Markell is sitting in close to At Night's body. At Night has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Markell is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Markell is tapping! That was a very nice submission by At Night.
