PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glady Shinker (ranked 1807 p4p, 272 weight class) and Tsuyoi Kakuto (ranked 22042 p4p, 646 weight class). Kakuto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gorillaz-Dirty Harry. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glady Shinker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tsuyoi Kakuto!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Darius Henderson and Francis DeMontford.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kakuto shoots in looking for a takedown. Shinker tries to sprawl out of it but Kakuto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shinker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kakuto tries a head kick but it misses.
Shinker went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Kakuto has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kakuto has Shinker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kakuto pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shinker tumbling to the mat - Kakuto dives into Shinker's guard.
Shinker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kakuto controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kakuto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kakuto is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Shinker will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Shinker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shinker tries to get out of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A control attempt from Shinker but he's now mounted!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kakuto is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Shinker is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Shinker flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kakuto anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Shinker and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kakuto slips an arm under Shinker chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kakuto has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kakuto is squeezing on Shinker like an anaconda would it's prey. Shinker fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tsuyoi Kakuto!
